You can now call me The Hemlock Street Jeweler! After two long years of deliberation, I’m finally ready to drop the name that has carried me through until now.
When I came into the industry in 2012, I never expected that I would eventually come to l-o-v-e being a jeweler. I also never thought it would be a career I would want to dedicate the rest of my life to. While I’ve always taken my job seriously, I haven’t always been as intentional with things as I am now.
In 2015, I was at the very tail end of earning my Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication Design at EWU. I thought it was a perfect time to brand my jewelry business because I had the skills to do logo design. If I told you that I created a business name and a logo and launched it all within 24 hours, would you believe me?
Over the years, I was asked repeatedly what the meaning behind Bear and the Adelaide was. People often assumed I was a jewelry designer living in Adelaide, South Australia. I haven’t even been to Australia!
I’ll let you in on a little secret. It had no meaning!
As I developed my brand with a strong jewelry presence and leaned myself more towards a life-long career as a jeweler, I started to feel like I needed a new name that would better fit what I’ve already worked so hard to accomplish and also where I was headed.
So, what’s the story behind the new name?
Well, I became a jeweler on Hemlock street. It’s as simple as that. No matter where I continue to design jewelry, Hemlock Street will always be a meaningful place for me.
In my new brand mark, Hemlock Street is illuminated by a lit street lantern.
When the sun goes down and the lights come on, you can always count on me to be right there at my bench.
