Featuring a raw specimen of Hematite; a mass of steel-grey to black crystals with some rusty-red grained material within it. The name Hematite is derived from the greek word for blood, Haima, due to the red coloration in some varieties. Hematite is a type of iron oxide—the iron oxide is what gives you the rusty-red color. There are 16 known different types of iron oxides which are used in iron ores, pigments, catalysts and even occur in hemoglobin! Hematite is widespread in rocks and soils and it’s one of the most abundant minerals on earth! A form of Hematite was also discovered on Mars; proving that large amounts of liquid water have flowed on Mars’ surface—how cool is that!
Hinged next to the Hematite is a lucky number 7 directly imprinted from an antique typeset number block. This whole necklace screams texture, depth and class. The pendant hangs in an organic matter; with a tilt; rather than symmetrical. The entire necklace has some weight to it so, I recommend it be worn higher on the chest. Remember, both the stone and typeset number are hinged together in the middle allowing for it to move and lay fluid on your chest. Chain is 18″. Pendant is 2 1/4″ by 2 1/4″. I can alter the chain length upon request.
Hematite has very strong grounding energy and is known for connecting the body to the earth. The entire necklace is made in Sterling Silver. This necklace is one-of-a-kind and is ready to ship.
